McLean County Sheriff Wants Blank Check For New SWAT Team
McLean County Sheriff Matt Lane is requesting approval of an intergovernmental agreement with the Bloomington Police Department for new Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT) capabilities.
This team would give a blank check for more money towards policing. How many calls for service annually by the Sheriff’s Deputies even require a SWAT response? This information was not included in the draft proposal submitted to the McLean County Justice Committee.

What’s the deal with Nightshop in downtown Bloomington?
Nightshop is a bar, restaurant, and music venue located in downtown Bloomington. It is a popular spot surrounded by sports, country, and college bars. However, Nightshop has always had an eclectic vibe attracting a more towny and artistic crowd than its downtown competitors.
